Allena Stevens ~ milliner
Hatgirl specializes in quality, handcrafted hats in straw and felt. Using traditional millinery techniques, Hatgirl creates vintage inspired hats with a modern twist. All of the hats are hand blocked, hand finished and include an adjustable grosgrain headband to ensure a comfortable fit. Offering an extensive range of colours, stunning trims and flowers, the hats are unique, wearable works of art.
Hatgirl was created by milliner Allena Stevens. Allena studied millinery at Sheridan College in Oakville, and George Brown College in Toronto. She has also completed workshops with the millinery department at the Stratford Festival of Canada. Working as an apprentice milliner at a high-end hat boutique, provided the best education, offering the opportunity to work with an extensive range of materials, trims and styles.
Allena's millinery experience has included creating hats for everyday wear, special occasions, equestrian events, garden parties, cocktail parties, bridal, music videos, T.V. and numerous fashion shows.
Designing under the name 'Allena Millinery' since 1997, the business evolved and Hatgirl was launched in 2000. Hatgirl hats are carried at select retail locations in Canada and the U.S.
